2D Wireframe and Annotation
The CATIA 2D Wire frame and Annotation product provides
tools to rapidly and easily create,
analyze and modify 2D geometry as well as visualize 2D and 3D
CATIA models. As a means of reducing costs, this product allows
for the creation of basic geometry and notes. If full dimensioning
capabilities are needed, the CATIA Drafting product can provide
complete capabilities for drafting. (5626-DR2) |
Drafting
The CATIA Drafting product
is an extension of the 2D Wireframe and Annotation product. Drafting
allows users to easily create engineering drawings. It provides
a full complement of tools for text, dimensioning, customizable
standards, 2D parametrics and 2D viewing capabilities. (5626-DRA) |
CATIA-CADAM Drafting
CATIA-CADAM Drafting
is a high productivity, easy to use design and drafting application
that includes, in one base product:
-
2D and 2 1/2D design
and drafting, including variational design which permits automatic
and user specified parametric, geometric and functional constraints.
-
Skechit!, the revolutionary
capability that lets a designer freehand sketch while the system
dynamically constructs fully constrained parametric geometry. (5626-CCD)

Draw-Space (2D/3D) Integration
The CATIA Draw-Space
(2D/3D) integration product fully integrates the 2D and 3D CATIA
environments. This product enables designers and drafters to create
projections and planar sections from 3D geometry for 2D drawings.
The system can automatically generate drawings and section cuts
from 3D data with user-controlled 2D to 3D associativity between
models. Drafters get the intended advantages of this product when
used with CATIA Drafting for drawing layout and 2D wireframe &
Annotation for creating 2D elements. The product can help move
2D legacy data to 3D. (5626-DRS) |
Dynamic Sketcher
CATIA Dynamic Sketcher
gives users the tools to quickly sketch 2D profiles as a part
of a 3D design. Users can directly manipulate coplanar solid geometry
and edit shapes, altering degrees of freedom or modifying associated
constraints. Dynamic Sketcher constantly analyzes the geometry
in the 2D window to detect constraint conflicts. The product captures
design intent through the automatic detection of profile geometric
constraints. Users can configure constraint parameters as well
as add, display and edit the constraints. (5626-DYS) |
3D Wireframe
CATIA 3D Wireframe is
a key product of the CATIA system geometric modeler allowing the
user to accurately create, modify and analyze 3D geometry. 3D
Wireframe provides an extensive range of methods to construct
3D geometry not normally found in most design systems. This product
can act as a stand-alone solution for customers who want an entry-level
CAD system based on CATIA with a logical growth path. 3D Wireframe
provides versatile tools to support configurations such as design,
analysis or manufacturing. (5626-WF3) |
Exact Solids
The CATIA Exact Solids
product provides the solid modeling definition required for downstream
applications such as numerical control machining and finite element
analysis. A variety of analysis tools and constructive solid geometry
technology aid in working with and optimizing a design. The solid
modeler is tightly integrated with surface and wireframe geometry,
and parametric and drafting data. It supports a broad spectrum
of options for doing fillet and draft creation including sweep,
extrusion, and revolution.(5626-SOE) |
3D Parametric Variational Modeler
The CATIA 3D Parametric
Variational Modeler product allows designers to add parametric
data to CATIA geometry capturing design intent and accelerating
product development. This technology automates the handling of
design changes maintaining original design intent and constraints
and allows for greater flexibility in quickly developing design
alternatives. 3D Parametric Variational Modeler supports all types
of geometry: wireframes, solids and surfaces, and lets designers
select either the whole design or a portion of it on which to
add parameters. (5626-PA3) |
Feature-Based Design
The CATIA Feature-Based
Design product enhances the designer's ability to create prismatic
parts by incorporating supplied or custom-developed features with
a dedicated dialog focusing on a single process such as creating
a family of reusable parts or a design for manufacturing. (5626-FEA) |
Assembly Modeling
The CATIA Assembly Modeling
product allows designers to create and manage mechanical assemblies
based on 3D parts and constraints. Assemblies can consist of parts
contained in multiple models. The automated definition of joints
from contacts between parts facilitates early analysis with the
CATIA Kinematics product. The aided part definition based on previously
defined parts and automated placement according to their contacts
greatly accelerates the design of assemblies. Downstream applications
can use the model for further design, analysis, manufacturing,
and so on. (5626-ASS) |
Composites Covering
CATIA Composites Covering
enables design and manufacturing engineers to define, manage and
analyze composite-related data on part models. Through associativity,
engineers add technological information to part geometry for modeling
composite coverings as unique entities. The product supports design,
production planning and manufacturing disciplines. Analysis and
visualization tools are provided to improve the final part quality.
Automatically generated reports list data such as ply sequence,
mass and area information, and ply boundary and material thickness.
(5626-COV) |
Generative Composite Covering
GenerativeComposite
Covering enables engineers to design the composite part from structural
analysis requirements. A finite element analysis of the part outputs
the laminate properties of each element. Identifying elements
with the same structure permits definition of the zones of the
part. With the zones defined, design rules are used to for sequence
stacking order and ply definition to automatically generate the
geometry and assign attribute information for each ply. (5626-GCC) |
Sheetmetal Design
The CATIA Sheetmetal
Design product enables design and manufacturing engineers to define,
manage and analyze sheet metal parts based on solids. Using technological
and parametric attributes, designers add intelligence, such as
material properties, to geometric elements to capture design intent
and provide the information necessary for downstream applications.
The product's automatic folding and unfolding capabilities facilitate
the manufacturing process. (5626-SHE) |
Generative Aerospace Sheetmetal Design
This product meets the
needs of sheet metal part designers. It offers enhanced productivity
and improved design quality for formed and flattened parts. It
also allows the capture of the companies knowledge including design
and manufacturing constraints, facilitating the design of hydropressed
parts. (5626-GSA) |
3D Functional Dimensioning and Tolerancing
CATIA 3D Functional
Dimensioning and Tolerancing facilitates the specification of
tolerances for solid models (exact or approximate), surfaces,
faces or edges. The product automatically proposes tolerances
at locations consistent with the assembly functional descriptions
and proposes tolerance types consistent with the selected surfaces.
The product contributes to an overall higher quality of tolerance
specification and helps keep production costs down by avoiding
overly tight tolerances. The product supports ANSI, ISO and ASME
standards for tolerance rules and syntax. (5626-FDT)
